Formo Tre & Metall is a quartet with a rather special lineup, based around the mechanical yet organic sound of the Hammond organ. The wooden cabinets and mechanical cogwheels of Daniel Formo’s B3 is joined by Mattias Ståhl playing the vibraphone, Eirik Hegdal on woodwinds and Erik Nylander on woodchops and drums (no cymbals..). Through his concert series and triple release “Hammond Dialogues” Formo has extensively explored the hammond organ’s many possibilities, and in Formo Tre&Metall this is done in a quartet setting.
